Welcome to Curbed Ski's list of the 18 Best Ski Town Hot Spots, our answer to any question that begins with, "Can you recommend a restaurant in...?" This highly elite group will cover 18 restaurants and bars in ski towns across North America, spanning myriad cuisines and collectively satisfying all of your dining and drinking needs. Every couple months we'll be adding places that were omitted or have stepped up there game. Have a tip? Let us know here.
Telluride may be tiny, but it's never lacked for places to drink or eat (that word order is intentional, btw). In any ski town, it's tough to find great food that not's overpriced, uninspired fodder for the masses. Curbed Ski used to reside here, and what's exciting is how Telluride has grown-up, culinarily-speaking, over the last few years. Where once the PBR Tallboy reigned supreme (not that there's anything wrong that, and not to worry- this ski town icon is still champ in Telluride's watering holes), there's now a fledgling mixology scene, and a handful of cafes and restaurants creating kickass food of the local/seasonal variety. There are also historic spots housed in Euro-style chalets, Victorian structures, and decrepit, false-front buildings. Never has the melding of old and new tasted so sweet. Presenting Curbed Ski's first-ever Telluride Dining Guide.
Note that establishments aren't listed in any particular order. PO'ed we forgot your favorite place? Instead of throwing a hissy fit, why not email us your suggestion?
