Always dreamed of your own private ski resort, but don't have the cash required for Montana's pricey Yellowstone Club? Try out some private powder by hosting an event at Utah's Eagle Point Resort. Located about 3.5 hours from Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, Eagle Point may not be as well-known as the bigger resorts in Utah's Wasatch Mountains, but the tiny ski area just received some major national press. According to Forbes Magazine, you can rent out the 600-acre ski area for only $10,000 per day. Considering that's how much big whigs throw down on a single steak dinner, Curbed Ski thinks that this private powder sounds like a steal of a deal.
Normally, Eagle Point Resort is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday (except for holidays). This allows owner Shane Gadbaw and his business partners to rent out the ski area the remaining three days of the week, both to corporate gigs and individual celebrations. Unfortunately, the warm weather in the west has taken a toll on Utah and this week the 100% natural snow resort announced that they will only be open on Saturdays and Sundays until snow conditions improve.
So what does the $10K per day "As You Wish" package get you? A total one day and one night takeover of the entire resort, all of its lifts and trails, plus all of the available condo lodging. The lodging sleeps 200 people, which puts the price for the whole experience at a only $50 per person. The price is less if you have fewer overnight guests or use only half of the resort.
Granted, the resort is small and this year Eagle Point has only received 96 inches of snow to date. But normally, the high-altitude spot gets plenty of powdery Utah snow, and we think a ski vacation with 199 friends sounds like a killer time.
A few fast facts about Eagle Point:
· Over 1500 vertical feet
· 600 skiable acres
· 40 named runs
· At least 320 days of sunshine
· 450 inches of annual snowfall
· 5 lifts
· Terrain Park
· Top elevation on resort is 10,600 feet
