While other ski areas in California succumbed to drought conditions months earlier, Mammoth Mountain just announced that this Sunday, May 10 will be their last day of the winter season. According to their snow conditions and weather page, Mammoth has only received 148 inches of snow this winter, with a measly 2.6 inches falling in January. That's made things a bit rough, as the ski area usually averages about 400 inches and stays open through Memorial Day. On the upside, the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park will open on May 22, and the ski area's full park and gondola access will be open daily beginning June 12.
