While speaking to Marketplace, a member of China's Olympics Bidding Committee lays out just why the final decision on a host for 2022 Games was between only China and Kazakhstan: Developed nations wonder what benefits they'll see, but people in places like Zhangjiakou want change and hope the Olympics can bring opportunity. But for every investor who sees a rise in condo prices, there's a cattle herder who now has to retreat farther into the mountains before he watches his home become a Four Seasons ski run.
